A photo from the 2008 Opportunity rover, in which the layered rock reminded ufologists of the creation of human (or alien) hands. A 2011 image taken by the Reconnassance Orbiter space station, for which there is a fairly simple scientific explanation. Firstly, if these were trees, then, judging by the image, they would grow parallel to the surface of the planet. Secondly, such marks on the sand are the result of the evaporation of frozen carbon dioxide.

Temple-face

A legendary photo that excited people's minds in the late seventies and early eighties. Then many decided that a certain civilization had built a temple in the shape of a human face on Mars.

Giant smiley

In 1976, the Viking Orbiter 1 spacecraft discovered a giant “smiley face” on Mars. In 1999, with clearer footage, scientists were able to take a closer look at it. We are talking about a crater with a radius of 230 kilometers. The find was later used in the famous comic book "Watchmen".

Ball

In September 2014, the Curiosity rover sent back a picture of a flawless-looking ball lying on the surface of the planet. However, NASA quickly cooled the ardor of ufologists: the size of the “artifact” is about one centimeter in diameter, and it was most likely the result of a geological process called nodule. During it, something like a snowball forms around some small solid body.

Just a couple of days ago, in one of the photographs, a mysterious find, a “Martian crab,” was again discovered. These photos, posted on the official NASA website, spread across all media and other sources of information and caused a lot of controversy. We present you a video about this photo.

Unknown and inexplicable: A photograph from Mars appeared on the Internet, in which virtual archaeologists spotted a mysterious creature.

The image was posted on YouTube by a user going by the name Jason Hunter. Among hunters of extraterrestrial civilizations, he is considered one of the most successful researchers. Moreover, he, like other virtual archaeologists, conducts his research mainly on Martian images. This photo recently appeared in the public domain on the official website of the American space agency NASA. The photo shows a mysterious creature whose color is darker than the surrounding stones. Upon enlarging the image, Hunter discovered that the object looked suspiciously like an earth mouse. However, simple calculations made it possible to establish that the size of this “mouse” is truly gigantic. Its length is about three meters.

Even ancient people, as far as possible, began to study the unique world of Mars through the night sky. People have always known that something special was hiding about the neighboring planet.

Despite being a much smaller planet than Earth, Mars is the most terrestrial planet in the solar system, with many similar geological features, including polar ice caps and ancient (now dry) river beds.

But is there/or was there life on Mars? Despite the controversy surrounding Mars meteorites, which some scientists believe contain fossils of ancient Martian life forms (like bacteria), there is no conclusive evidence that life ever existed on Mars.

But you must admit, this does not exclude the possibility that once in the past there was life on Mars. And although there is no significant evidence for this assumption, there are amazing photographs that provoke strong curiosity.

Floating artifacts of Mars.

The presented image shows two relatively skinny objects casting a shadow on the surface of the planet. Objects look as if the structure is suspended or floating above the ground.

NASA experts attributed the objects in the photograph to the realm of pareidolia - some exquisite tricks of light and shadow (as are all such artifacts). The agency says it's just a "strange rock" shaped by winds and time.

Although it is unlikely that the objects are a spoon and something else (as they say), they still require closer attention. But NASA (at least officially) is not interested. NASA's official position on these structures is that they are natural formations.

Monolith on Mars.

Without a doubt, here we are seeing fascinating objects that have been photographed on the surface of Mars and its moon Phobos. The tall geometric structure looks like a man-made creation - with a purpose unknown to us.

The “tower” appears in the photo as a tall structure with a white tip, casting a long shadow. If the Monolith on Mars is indeed a tower of some kind, it will rise an incredible 6.3 km in height - that's 12 times taller than the largest skyscraper on Earth.

The object is a free-standing geometric block of enormous height. The first thing that immediately comes to mind is the monolith created by aliens from the 2001 film: A Space Odyssey. But is this object artificial?

Scientists believe: "In reality, it is more likely that the boulder was created by breaking away from the foundation, forming a rectangular shape." If this is true, then where is the “root” itself, from which the giant monolith broke off, and was positioned in such an interesting way?

Where is the stone that broke to create this shape? And why did such a tall Tower not collapse under the influence of wind and time?

The object appears to stand perfectly on its own on the flat ground. Of course, we can't say that this is an artificial structure, but we can add it to the growing list of strange Martian anomalies.

Monolith on Phobos.

We must boldly go where man has not gone before - fly, visit asteroids, visit the Moon of Mars. . A very unusual structure on this small potato-shaped object that passes around Mars once every seven hours, says Buzz Aldrin.

Could such “natural structures” be optical illusions of natural geological formations? Well... of course they can. But to directly reject the opinion that structures cannot be artificial in origin is just as unscientific as the statement that they were created by intelligent beings.

At the same time, the suggestion that the towers are artificial is such a big claim that these images should be carefully examined with healthy skepticism, but with an open mind.

Image data from seemingly man-made structures can be dissolved into natural formations to produce more detailed, high-resolution photographs (as happened with Face on Mars).

Pyramids of Giza and Martian pyramids.

The Sidonia region on Mars seems to be filled with mysterious anomalous structures. Southwest of the infamous "face on Mars" is a group of structures called "pyramids". With their relatively smooth, triangular sides, they bear a striking resemblance to the pyramids at Giza.

But should we be surprised at the Martian pyramids if the red world contains the remains of a big city!

Star City on Mars.

The curious formation seen here was called the Star City. This is a rather complex structure, and we cannot but agree with the researchers who saw artificial walls in the photograph. The city is part of a large area of strange patterns, geometric objects and other anomalous curiosities on Mars.

However, according to skeptics, the “city buildings” covering the local landscape most likely have a natural origin: “Large domes and tubes, volcanic in origin, some of the domes have partially collapsed, creating interesting structures. In many cases, the undestroyed features are likely partially empty, and could provide shelter from the extreme Martian environment."

Indeed, assuming that education looks artificial, this does not mean that this is how things really are. We are just beginning to understand Mars' climate, geology, and processes occurring there. The question of whether Mars has running water is still hotly debated. But you must admit, there are some features of this strange planet that are truly mystifying.

Domed crater on Mars.

See one of the most unusual craters on Mars. The photo clearly shows the appearance of a crater with something unusual looking inside. In the center of the crater is a dome-shaped structure, almost perfectly spherical. It has a ball-like texture...reminiscent of Buckminster Fuller's geodesic design.

What's more intriguing is that the dome is very close to what appears to be a system of tunnels or pipelines that run above and below the surface of Mars. Small tunnels seem to connect to larger tunnels, as if forming some kind of huge drainage system. What if there is some kind of structure hiding in the center of the crater?

Martian finger.

A curious photo taken by a rover on Mars shows an object that looks remarkably like a human finger, complete with nail. Obviously, we only see one side of the object, so we can't tell whether the artifact looks like a finger from all angles.

Some have suggested that it is a fossilized finger from a Martian, or a broken finger from a Martian statue, which may be closer to the truth. Or is it again just a strange piece of stone that, from the researchers’ point of view, looks like a finger?

"Rodent" on the surface of Mars.

Mars is indeed full of surprises and artifacts; in the photo we see what has been called a Mars rodent. The object looks an awful lot like a guinea pig, such as one might find in any Earthly pet store.

Is it possible that this is actually some form of Martian rodent? If so, what does he eat there? – There is no vegetation on the planet. However, the funny rodent looks very cheerful from the outside. Maybe there is some form of underground life that the animal discovers in its burrows?

Or maybe it's an optical illusion again, a stone whose shape tricks us into seeing a furry little beast with a nose, an eye and perhaps a front leg.

Bone on Mars.

The image was taken in August 2014 and shows an object that looks very similar to some kind of bone. Some observers compared the artifact to a femur.
However, according to scientists, there should be no bones on Mars, since life has never been discovered there. And, of course, no evidence of large life forms has been confirmed.

Could this artifact serve as evidence of life on Mars, or is it just another strange rock that resembles bone? The coloring, proportions and shape, and even with articular nodes at the ends, immediately make you think of the bones of the limbs.

Unfortunately, without serious investigation, no conclusion can be drawn about the true nature of the artifact, and we do not know whether NASA plans to take a closer look at the suspicious object. Most likely no:

“If life existed on Mars, scientists expect it to be simple life forms called microbes,” NASA said in a press release. “Mars probably never had enough oxygen in its atmosphere to support more complex organisms. Thus, large fossils cannot exist."

Many researchers are sure that this is the bone of an alien Martian animal. Others suggest that the bone resemblance is simply pareidolia—the human brain's tendency to find familiar shapes in random formations.

Martian totem.

It's probably not a Martian totem pole at all. But what is this strange thing? Is this similar to science education? Is there a natural formation comparable to it on Earth?

It looks like an object with rounded objects on it that look like they were specially screwed onto a pole. And all this stands in a very smooth part of the area, in a depression, as if the riddle was specially planted there.

Alien weapon.

Here's another puzzle on the surface of Mars. An incredibly mysterious artifact that observers compared to some kind of weapon, like tanks or anti-aircraft guns. Indeed, we see an amazing resemblance: there is a frame body and a cannon barrel pointing upward.

Maybe this is just another mischief in the games of light and shadow, but looking at such artifacts and anomalies taken together, you come to the conclusion: not everything is so simple in the past history of Mars.

It should be taken into account that only a small part of the planet’s territories has been considered. So what is this unusual rock formation? Or something different? Either way, Mars is an extremely strange and terribly interesting place.

Scientists were the first to talk about traces of intelligent life on Mars back in the 18th century. Until the early 20th century, the red planet was thought to be covered in vegetation and water, but improved telescopes have debunked this age-old myth. After the launch of the first satellites and the beginning of space exploration, it was believed that all the mysteries of Mars would be explained, but the strange images sent by the rovers only added to the mysteries.

Sphinx and pyramids

The exploration of Mars was one of the fronts of the Cold War. The USA and the USSR did not want to give in to each other. So the Americans were the first to launch artificial satellites to the planet, but the first photos from the surface were taken by the Russians in 1971 thanks to the MARS-2 and MARS-3 stations.

But due to setup errors and imperfect technology, it was impossible to see anything on them other than the general contours of the relief.

In 1976, the Americans were able to land the Viking 1 and 2 satellites on Mars. These stations were for the first time able to confirm that there is no life on the planet, but they took photos that excited all seekers of extraterrestrial intelligence.

An object resembling the contours of a human face was discovered on the surface in the Cydonia region, and nearby was a scattering of rock formations resembling pyramids. To stem the tide of alien fascination, NASA had to launch a new research probe, Mars Global Surveyor.

In the spring of 1998, the MGS satellite took a photo showing that the face was an ordinary rock. But ufologists, not wanting their beautiful theories to be destroyed, stated that the human features in the picture were erased due to the fact that the satellite photographed the area through a layer of clouds.

NASA specialists had to wait 3 years for a new opportunity and even change the probe’s flight path in order to get a new photo under ideal conditions. But they achieved their goal by solving the main mystery of the Red Planet. On the other hand, this incident became the reason for the search for new oddities of Mars for people from all over the world.

Thanks to the fact that satellites and rovers take several hundred thousand photographs every week, which are freely posted by NASA on the Internet, the scope for creativity is enormous. But “deciphering” sometimes takes more than one year.

Martian forest

In 2001, the famous science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke said that there is vegetation on Mars, and these are not just individual withered blades of grass, but full-fledged forests. As proof, a whole collection of orbital images taken by MGS was provided.

Scientists did not share Clark's confidence, immediately finding an explanation for the phenomenon. They believe that the cause of the appearance of such formations is carbon dioxide emissions freezing at the planet's poles. Periodically they melt, and the flowing gas forms bizarre branches. Experts call them “spiders.”

Alien Yeti

In 2004, MGS ceased operation and was replaced by the Spirit rover. Three years later, in a panoramic photo taken by a robot, attentive users discovered a “living alien” that was surprisingly similar to the legendary terrestrial Bigfoot. Considering that NASA censors did not pay attention to it, ufologists were joined by conspiracy theorists who claimed that the government was hiding from the population the fact of contact with extraterrestrial civilizations.

Scientists were able to dispel the new myth quickly, explaining that the photo taken by Spirit consists of 154 separate photographs. Accordingly, taking into account the change in perspective, the height of the “alien” should be only 5-6 centimeters. In addition, the unknown creature had to freeze for ten minutes a couple of meters from the rover in order for its image to be so clear. The experts' conclusion was clear - these are ordinary stones, intricately carved by the wind.

US Presidents on Mars

In 2005, Spirit took another photo that conspiracy theorists loved. On it, attentive Internet users were able to see the head of Barack Obama, which provoked a wave of rumors that the US leader represents the interests of aliens on Earth.

In 2009, another Mars rover, Opportunity, which had been roaming the planet for 5 years, took a new photo, proving that it was not for nothing that Donald Trump became the successor of a black president. People were also able to see the image of his head in one of the Martian stones.

In March 2017, enthusiastic ufologists announced that facts proving the existence of aliens had finally been discovered on Mars. A photo was presented as evidence. It was announced that it was taken by the Curiosity rover, which has been traveling the planet since 2012. But this myth was dispelled even without the involvement of NASA specialists.

Attentive users noted that the photo is fake. In fact, the photo was taken by the Opportunity rover 12 years before the hype began. Additionally, another image was posted online, taken in the same area earlier on 1 Martian day. It clearly shows that the amazing flying saucer is the thermal insulation of the rover discarded as unnecessary.

Martian buildings

In 2010, another American satellite, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, photographed an object resembling one of Earth's airship hangars. The unusual hill, several hundred meters long, really resembles an artificial structure. Interest is further fueled by the fact that nearby there is a perfectly round crater that can be mistaken for a satellite dish.

Another mysterious structure was discovered in a photo from Mars by Scott Waring in 2017. A rectangular object about 10 km long and over 6 km wide was recognized by ufologists as a bomb shelter left after the Martian nuclear war.

Despite the fact that the rovers did not record the existence of life, scientists cannot stop thinking that there is life on Mars. Since there has not yet been a single expedition to the planet, scientists cannot accurately answer this question.

By examining and analyzing photographs of the surface taken by the rover in detail, they find images, such as a face on Mars, and make some guesses.

In the northern hemisphere of Mars is the region of Cydonia, famous for the legend “The Face on Mars.”

The region is named after the polis of the same name in Ancient Greece. It is conventionally divided into three zones:

Cydonia Labyrinthus with intersecting valleys;
the hilly Cydonia of Collisa;
zone of table mountains with a flat top and steep slopes.

The Kydonia area was first photographed on July 25, 1976 by the Viking 1 spacecraft. There were 18 NASA images of Mars, but only 5 of them were suitable for study.

Martian face

In 1976, cameras at the Viking 1 station recorded a strange pattern on the ground in the area of Kydonia between the Bamberg and Arandus craters, resembling a human face.

At that time, many ufologists associated the presence of this image, called the “Martian Sphinx,” with an ancient civilization that existed in the past on Mars.

After 25 years, we managed to put an end to the controversy surrounding this object. In clearer photographs taken in 2001 by the Mars Global Surveyor, the face on Mars was missing.

Scientists attribute the appearance of the image of the Sphinx to an optical illusion and the low resolution of the camera of that time.

Bottle on Mars

In 2017, another, no less interesting object was found on Mars.

Ufologist Thomas Miller discovered a bottle in the photograph, presumably a beer bottle.

He could make out a stopper and a label with red, green and white elements.

Miller noted that there's no way to verify whether it's actually a beer bottle, but if it is, it would be nice to "sit down and have a beer with the Martians."

Experienced ufologists refuted Miller's point of view.

Strange objects have been found more than once in photographs of Mars - a large spoon, a donut, a wafer, a statue of a woman.

According to them, the bottle in the photo is actually a fragment of rock or an ordinary stone. An optical illusion resulting from the play of light and shadow turned this stone into a bottle.

Woman Warrior Statue

In one of NASA's images of Mars, amateur astronomer Joe White discovered a rock whose shape resembles a statue of a female warrior done in an "Egyptian artistic style."

Judging by the head, the statue is large.

According to ufologists, the fact of the presence of such a statue suggests that in the distant past there was a highly developed civilization on Mars with a strong army, and its representatives were similar to people.

Ancient amphora

UFOlogist Scott Waring found an ancient amphora on Mars.

In the photographs you can see what appears to be an ancient wine vessel half-submerged in sand.

If you look closely, it looks more like a ceramic vase without handles than an amphora.

Waring claims that NASA experts discolored the photographs so that the stones could not be distinguished from artifacts.

According to him, the sandy desert on Mars is similar to any sandy desert on Earth and has a variety of shades of color other than brown and orange.

Spaceship Graveyard

After carefully examining images of the Red Planet taken by the Curiosity rover, ufologists discovered unusual craters that are likely traces of spacecraft.

They pointed out the similarity of these craters with those discovered on the Moon, the origin of which also could not be explained.

According to one version, the caves found on Mars were workshops. In them, alien spaceships underwent maintenance.

Some ufologists believe that these caves could have been cosmodromes on which ships with aliens landed (or are still landing).

According to the third version, these craters are a cemetery for flying saucers. In the craters, strange tubes are visible coming out of the depression, resembling the remains of spaceships.

Morse code

In 2016, NASA scientists studying NASA images from Mars saw dunes that looked like dots and dashes in Morse code. The photographs were taken by the HiRISE camera installed on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter interplanetary station.

Veronica Bray, a famous planetary scientist, deciphered the inscription.

The Martians, if they exist, left the following message for the earthlings: “NEE NED ZB 6TNN DEIDEDH SIEFI EBEEE SSIEI ESEE SEEE!!”

Despite the fact that some syllables and words are in the English language, the meaning of the message without decoding will remain unknown.
Elements of Morse code have already been found on Mars. But on the Hagal dune they are especially clearly visible.

Scientists explain their occurrence by winds. Moreover, “dots” and “dashes” were formed in different ways. “The dashes were formed as a result of the influence of bidirectional winds. The “dots” appeared at a point in time when the process of drawing the “dash” was interrupted by something.

UFO

Ufologists at the University of Arizona, after analyzing images of Mars, discovered a strange object - a five-meter hole that could be the crash site of a ship.

During the scientific examination, it turned out that the UFO crash on Mars occurred within the last 10 years, since there is no such hole in the 2008 photographs.

The black color around the hole suggests that the spacecraft exploded when it hit a Martian hillside.

One might assume that this hole was the result of a meteorite falling. But in this case, there would be fragments of soil nearby, crushed during the collision.

A long black trail stretches from the hole, probably caused by the fall. Presumably its length is 1 kilometer.

Experts claim that it was an alien spaceship. As a result, they died or managed to survive and went looking for help.

Despite the heated scientific debate surrounding the hole, NASA experts do not explain the origin of this Martian object.

Ufologists are sure that NASA knows about the existence of aliens, but they hide it from people.

City

Many science fiction writers are interested in the topic of life on Mars. In their works they describe entire Martian cities. Perhaps such cities are not just fiction. There is a hypothesis that they existed on Mars in the past.

For the first time, physics professor John Brandenburg spoke about the existence of a Martian civilization that probably died as a result of a nuclear disaster.

As proof, the scientist cited data on the high content of radioactive substances on the planet that could have arisen after a nuclear explosion.

In support of the theory about the existence of ancient Martians, in 2016, ruins of a city were discovered in photographs of the poles.

The discovery of the ancient city belongs to ufology fan Sandra Andrade, who found it on the mapping of the planet’s surface in the Google Eath service.

The city on Mars stretches for hundreds of kilometers and consists of numerous buildings, probably destroyed by an avalanche, mudflow or as a result of a nuclear explosion.

The buildings are arranged in lines 5 km long, resembling streets. Buildings reach a height of 800 meters, the average length of buildings is 630 meters.

According to Scott Waring, approximately 500 thousand people could live in the city.

Experienced ufologists believe that making such a statement based on NASA orbital images from Mars, which are of insufficient quality, is erroneous.

According to Sandra Andrade, part of the image could have been erased by NASA specialists to keep secret the fact of the existence of living organisms on Mars.

Rurik's grave

In 2014, independent researchers discovered a cross and a slab protruding from the surface in the photographs. Two objects similar to skulls are visible nearby.

The resemblance to a human skull is great - the cavity of the nose and eye sockets are visible. The skulls on Mars immediately gave researchers the idea of a grave.

But if there are alien burials on Mars, this means that they were on Mars relatively recently, so they were not completely destroyed.

V.A. Chudinov, who was deciphering syllabic and alphabetic writing, enlarged the image, saw a head on the cross and concluded that this was the crucifixion of Christ.

That is, it is not Christ who is depicted on the cross, but Rurik.

“Isn’t Rurik buried here?” - asks Chudinov.

Buddha image

Researcher Scott Waring, trying to find signs of extraterrestrial life forms, saw an 8-kilometer image of the head of Buddha on the surface of Mars.

The photograph shows the profile of a bald man with full cheeks, distinct eyes, ears, and chin.

Scott Waring claims that his discovery is proof of the theory about the influence of aliens on the culture of the inhabitants of our planet.

Since the first rover Opportunity landed on Mars in 2004, scientists, ufologists and space enthusiasts have studied many images.
