The number of volunteers at the 2018 World Cup will be 15 thousand people. At the same time, in practice, there are many times more applicants, and the selection is carried out on a competitive basis.

To become a volunteer, you must register on the FIFA website and undergo training in special volunteer training centers. 15 volunteer centers have been opened in Russia for the 2018 World Cup, including 5 in Moscow. The selection begins almost two years before the start of the World Cup. Candidate registration started on June 1, 2016 at FIFA.com. To apply, you need to fill out an online application. To do this, you will need a passport and a digital photo where the face is clearly visible.

Several dozen questions are included in the questionnaire; it takes about 30 minutes to answer. Among the standard ones: place of residence, education, computer skills, availability driving license as well as allergies. Candidates are also offered to choose several functional areas where they would like to work: medicine, media, registration, etc.

Selection

Future volunteers are carefully screened and tested:

. Checking the profile. The data specified in the questionnaire goes into the database and is checked, including by the security services.

. Initial selection, during which the staff of the Russia-2018 Organizing Committee will remotely check how detailed the candidate has answered the questions, whether he is suitable by age and education.

. Then the candidates are waiting for online testing, which will be sent in a personal letter to email... The test will test analytical skills, personal qualities, knowledge in English.

. If everything goes smoothly, the candidate will be invited to the next stage - an interview at a volunteer center or online.

. All candidates for the 2018 FIFA World Cup volunteers will know the selection results no later than February 2018. Those who will be among the lucky ones who have passed the selection will be invited to study.

Education

The main goal of the training is to help future volunteers acquire the necessary skills for work and develop their abilities.

The training will take place in five volunteer centers in Moscow. Each volunteer will be assigned to one of the centers and enrolled in a training group. Invitations to classes will be sent by email.

According to FIFA.com, the training consists of three blocks:

1) general preparation: introductory trainings on the history and values ​​of the 2018 World Cup, briefing on the specifics of the organization and course of the Championship and the rules for working at the tournament;

2) trainings in the chosen functional area;

3) on-site training - instruction in the volunteers' workplaces.

The training takes one or two days, not counting the instructions at the facility, which are already held immediately before the competition.

The result of the volunteer for each training will be entered into the Organizing Committee's database. Confirmation successful learning will become accreditation for the World Cup, intermediate certificates will not be issued in the preparation process, specifies FIFA.com.

Work at the World Cup facility

Volunteers will begin their duties on May 10, 2018. The term of work at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, regardless of the direction, is expected within 20 days.

The work of volunteers is free of charge. Registration of candidates for participation in the volunteer squad at the 2018 World Cup opened on June 1, 2016. To join the tournament, everyone must fill out a form on the website International Federation football (FIFA), after which it is necessary to pass a special selection and short-term training. In accordance with the regulations, everyone who wants to become a volunteer must know English. The level of proficiency in this language is determined during testing. All who managed to successfully pass the selection are sent to training in accordance with the functional area of ​​interest to them. Volunteer functions

On June 1, 2016, the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia ™ Volunteer Program was launched across the country. In Nizhny Novgorod, the event took place on the Minin and Pozharsky squares.
