Sixth step. Weld heating units of suitable length from profile pipes with dimensions of 400x200x15 (focus on the dimensions of the greenhouse). The pipes themselves must be laid on the ground with a step of about 120-150 cm.

Seventh step. Buy and install a hydraulic pump. The system will be heated using water, so it will not be possible to do without a pump.

Any firewood is suitable for the firebox of such a stove. For maximum efficiency install an electronic temperature sensor in the greenhouse, and for greater convenience, place it in a house or other suitable place digital control panel.

A simple and fairly effective greenhouse heating can be built on the basis of an empty fire extinguisher with a cut off top.

First step. Fix on the bottom of the case a heating element (heating element) with a power of about 1 kW. Usually, heating elements of electric samovars and other similar devices have the same power, so there will be no problems finding the necessary part.

Seventh step. Ground the boiler. Grounding is carried out using a copper cable with 3 cores. Two of its cores are connected to the phases of the heating element. The remaining core is launched onto the body of the heating unit.

To work, you will need an empty gas cylinder directly, a coil (a U-shaped tube with threads at the ends), a metal grill, a gate valve, hinges and two metal door handles. You should also prepare a chimney pipe, taking into account the length of the greenhouse, a welding machine with electrodes, a drill and a grinder, pipes and a radiator for the heating circuit. For the front wall of the furnace, a small sheet of steel is required.

From these simple devices, a boiler with a water circuit is assembled to heat the country greenhouse.



Step 1

After making sure that the balloon is empty, we saw it with a grinder in two. One of the parts will serve as the body of the furnace, from the second we will make an ash box.

We take the grate, make measurements and cut it so that the resulting segment fits inside the cylinder. We grab the grate by welding. Now the stove is divided into a fuel combustion chamber (2/3 of the volume) and an ash pan (1/3 of the volume).

We introduce a coil (water circuit) inside the furnace. We make markings for the coil, drill two holes in the upper part of the furnace to bring out the ends of the threaded pipe. We weld the coil to the metal plate and the top of the furnace.

We equip the chimney. We cut a hole for the pipe in the upper back of the furnace. We weld a pipe to connect the chimney. We monitor the quality, otherwise the draft and operation of the boiler will be impaired.

We weld the chimney pipe in such a way that it will pass at an inclination of about 20 degrees through the entire greenhouse. The chimney will exit through the back wall of the greenhouse, rising 1 meter above the roof. Be sure to consider thermal insulation at the point of contact between the greenhouse wall and the chimney, so that a fire does not happen.

We connect the chimney pipe to the furnace pipe using sheet asbestos and a coupling, tightening it with wire.



Step 6

We connect metal pipes for the water circuit to the ends of the coil that are brought out. The piping must contain an expansion tank and a pump that will pump water through the pipes.

Thus, the water heated in the coil will flow into the radiator, and when it cools down, it will again fall into the boiler. The chimney pipe will serve as an additional source of heat. Also, a long chimney will reduce heat loss, increasing the efficiency of the boiler.





Step 7

We install the stove in the greenhouse, having previously built a brick or concrete base and laid out a brick screen on three sides of the firebox. For stability, the furnace can be equipped with legs made of any fittings or long products.

We load fuel into the stove, ignite it, adjust the draft by opening or closing the firebox / ash pan door.

Option #1 - solar panels

It is possible to heat the greenhouse with the help of solar heat accumulators. First, they dig a 15 cm hole in the greenhouse and cover the ground with a layer of heat insulator, possibly polystyrene. A layer of polyethylene film is placed on top for waterproofing.

Then coarse-grained wet sand is placed on top and all this is covered with dug earth. This simple device makes it possible to maintain a satisfactory temperature in the greenhouse due to the accumulated energy of the sun, even at a temperature of - 10 ° C.

Option #2 - air heating

The easiest way to heat a greenhouse or greenhouse is to equip primitive air heating:

  • Step 1. A piece of steel pipe is taken with a diameter of 50-60 cm and a length of about 2-2.5 m.

It will be enough to take a couple of cylinders for this purpose - they will last for a long time.

It is only important to remember that an excess of carbon dioxide can adversely affect the condition of plants, and therefore such a greenhouse must be well ventilated. And to remove combustion waste, it is necessary to use an exhaust device so that a constant supply of oxygen to the greenhouse is ensured. And, so that the lack of oxygen does not lead to the cessation of the combustion process and the release of gas into the air, it is advisable to use heating devices with automatic protective device- the sensors will immediately work as soon as the gas supply to the burner stops.

Option # 4 - stove heating

To begin with, we want to present you a video from a real homemade, who very simply and effectively solved the problem of heating his greenhouse:

Unlike electric heating, classic stove heating is not so burdensome in terms of financial terms. So, you can build a simple greenhouse stove with a hog or a horizontal chimney with your own hands and at no special cost. Its device principle is quite simple:

  • Step 1. A brick firebox is laid out in the vestibule of the greenhouse.
  • Step 2. A chimney is laid out along the entire length of the greenhouse, either under the beds or under the racks.
  • Step 3. This chimney is removed from the greenhouse on the other side so that carbon monoxide leaves, and all the heat remains inside the building. As a result, the distance between the end wall of the greenhouse and the firebox itself should be at least 25 cm, but from the garden bed or rack with plants to the top of the hog - from 15 cm.

Or in this way:

  • Step 1. You need to take a large barrel, with a capacity of about 3 cubes, and paint it from the inside in 2 layers so that it does not rust.
  • Step 2. Holes are made inside the barrel for a chimney, a stove, an expansion barrel on top and a drain valve on the bottom.
  • Step 3. The stove is boiled and inserted into the barrel.
  • Step 4. A chimney is removed from the barrel, and a pipe 5 meters high is placed on the street.
  • Step 5. A home-made expansion tank of 20 liters is installed on top of the barrel, which is pre-cooked from simple sheet iron.
  • Step 6. Heating is cooked from a profile pipe 40x20x1.5, and the pipes are laid out on the ground at a distance of 1.2 m. So they must be laid out so that the soil near the roots of the plants warms up well.
  • Step 7. To circulate water in such a home-made heating system, a special, but inexpensive pump is purchased.

You can heat such a stove with any wood, and the drain valve at the bottom of the barrel can be used not only to drain water, but also for drip irrigation when the water itself has cooled. To control the temperature in such a greenhouse, you can install an electronic temperature sensor inside it, and the digital display itself can be installed right in the house.

Option #5 - water heating

At the entrance to the radiators, it is advisable to equip the pipes with ball valves or thermal valves in order to regulate the temperature in different parts of your huge greenhouse for specific plants.

Boiler and chimney

A do-it-yourself greenhouse with heating is not only hanging radiators and piping, but also installing a boiler with a chimney.

The heating boiler can be placed both inside the greenhouse itself and placed in the heated room itself, which will further increase the efficiency of the entire system. Heat transfer from the boiler to the surrounding space will be unequivocal, so the air temperature in the greenhouse will increase.

But in the first option, you can not go inside the greenhouse at all while loading the boiler with fuel. The second option not only increases productivity and efficiency, but also saves a lot of space.

Convenient boiler - convenient operation

The water heated in the boiler is supplied by a pump to the pipes laid along the walls of the greenhouse. They are made from a variety of materials, but the most commonly used are copper, plastic and steel. For greenhouses, the second option is more suitable, because plastic pipes are cheap, light and not prone to rust. This is especially true for soil heating.

Water heating installation

  1. Take a piece of steel tube with a diameter of 500-600 millimeters and a length of about 2-2.5 meters.

Heating a greenhouse with wood

This is one of the budget options. For this purpose, stoves such as the Bullerjan are suitable, which eliminate the need to lay firewood at night. Of the advantages of such heating, the following should be noted:

  1. The room heats up quickly.
  2. The temperature is maintained at the desired level for a long time.
  3. Fuel economy.

Solar batteries

Solar panels can be used to heat the greenhouse. The device process is as follows:

  1. First, a hole is dug in the greenhouse with a depth of 130-140 millimeters.
  2. It is covered on top with a layer of heat insulator (for example, polystyrene).
  3. Then you need to lay out coarse-grained wet sand on top.
  4. After that, all this is covered with dug earth.

Thanks to this method of heating, solar energy is accumulated and maintains for a long time normal temperature in a greenhouse.

Heating a greenhouse with gas

Gas heating has one significant advantage - it is more stable in terms of supply. The arrangement of this type of heating should be approached depending on current needs. So, if in winter the greenhouse needs to be heated for only a few weeks, then cylinders can be used, rather than expensive pipelines. Only then the room should be well ventilated. After all, plants do not tolerate excess hydrocarbons in the air.

In order to eliminate combustion waste, you can put a special exhaust device. As a result, oxygen will be supplied in the required quantities to ensure a full-fledged combustion process. In addition, due to the presence of a hood, the gas will not be released into the air. For safety reasons, it is recommended to use heaters equipped with automatic protection, which will immediately work when the gas supply to the burner is interrupted.

Stove heating

Furnace heating does not require as much expenses as electric heating. A simple greenhouse stove can be completely built independently. Moreover, it does not require large financial investments. Consider the principle of the device of one of the options for the furnace:

  1. The vestibule of the greenhouse is lined with bricks. In this case, the chimney is laid along the entire length of the room (including under the beds and racks). It heats the greenhouse, and carbon monoxide comes out from the outside on the other side.
  2. The stove should not stand close to the end of the greenhouse. It is recommended that the distance between them be at least 250-270 millimeters. From the bed to the top of the hog should be at least 150 millimeters.

There are other options for installing stove heating in a greenhouse. Let's talk about one of them:

  1. A barrel with a capacity of about 3 cubic meters is taken. To prevent it from rusting, we paint it inside in two layers.
  2. Then holes are made inside it for the chimney and stove.
  3. After that, the stove is welded and inserted into the prepared barrel. Holes are cut at the top for the expansion barrel and at the bottom for the drain cock.
  4. Now the chimney is removed from the tank. From the outside of the greenhouse, a pipe 6 meters high is placed on it.
  5. Then, an expansion tank welded from a sheet of iron with a capacity of 20 liters is installed on top of the barrel.
  6. After that, a profile pipe 40x20x1.5 is taken, heating is welded from it. In order for the soil near the roots to warm up well enough, the pipes are laid out on the ground with a distance between them of about 1-1.3 meters.
  7. The water in the system must circulate. To do this, you need to purchase a pump. Any wood can be used as fuel.
  8. The drain cock at the bottom of the tank can be used both for drip irrigation and for draining water. Climatic conditions and the temperature in this case is controlled remotely using electronic sensors installed in the greenhouse. The very same temperature value is visible on the digital display, which is convenient to install at home.

Combined heating

This method has become quite widespread. It allows you to respond very quickly to changes in operating conditions. So, for example, when the electricity is turned off, the heating method changes to another.
